Communication skills is a skills based course where students are expected to acquire practical skills in writing, reading, speaking, listening and interpersonal communication.

Practical activities will be used more than presenting theory in class.

The purpose of this course is to equip students with a both the theoretical and practical background for development of teaching and learning resources

The concept of educational technology.

Pertinent issues in CBC and how they affect instruction technology

Theories of the communication process.

·         The learners mind sees using the General Systems theory

·         Multimedia theory of learning: visual, verbal and non-verbal.

·         The range of media for Teaching and Learning: Audio, Visual and Audio-Visual.  Design techniques of producing visual media.   Electronic media in education; projected media.

Selection and use of learning media.

Use of community resources.

The school learning resource centre.

Theories of Administration, Classical Organization theory, Human relations approach, behavioral Science Approach, post Behavioral Science approaches.  Principles of Educational administration. Administration of   Secondary Schools and Tertiary institutions. Administration of school’s finance.   Emerging issues in Education Administration.
